3.16 updates

hi all!!

did you attend the Youth Prayer Meeting tonight at TBSC?? it was definitely a great meeting after the daimoku and strong guidance given by our Asst Youth chief and YWD chief.

If you observe, the title of this links in this blog is called "Sekai ni to mo to" which means Friends of the World. and if you take a closer look, a new link is added. which is the blog which will document down the various events, happenings, significance, history and many more about the 3.16 of Soka Gakkai -- Kosen-rufu day.

http://ssayth316.wordpress.com

pls visit the site, get involved!!

be it link it to your personal blog, tell it to your friends, writing to them, calling them, wadever.. though we may be rejected, or ignored, or even in the situation wher our words are like wind.. (er bian feng)
but it is the efforts and the heart that matters most right?

as i rem wad YWD chief say to me.. "we mus ensure that all our members and leaders are aware and join us in the campaign(ywd dialogue). Just like for you, you are in the cultural group, being a distric leader, having lots of meetings.. we are already going about doing our homevisits, dialogues etc.. how are we able to spread the forces? our members do not have so many chances to attend meetings.. thus we shld involve them and allow them to step out and share with their friends about this Buddhism so that they are able to forge a strong self and when they encounter any obstacles in the future, they will think back and not be defeated by their lesser self." (edited and re-phrase)

of cuz we shld exercise our wisdom and compassion when we are doing our hmv and dialogues. but i hope all of you find it very joyous in carrying out ur activities..

Cheers!

YWD dialogue campaign

Hi all my fellow comrades of Hougang South! how are all of you doing? to ensure that this blog is constantly up and running, i will be posting more updates.. starting from the YWD 20,000 dialogue campaign..

YWD will be holding this 20,000 dialogue campign with the aim of expanding membership and also in commemoration of Sensei's visit to Singapore 20 yrs ago in 1988. Plus, we will also be commemorating the 50th anniversary of 3.16 where President Toda passed the baton of Kosen-rufu to the youths.

For those ywds who are still not aware of this campaign, it is actually a very simple but tedious task to going about to share with your friends about this Buddhism.. Can be on the phone, or even juz during a simple lunch or dinner. Most imptly is how we treat this campaign as one to look beyond our personal challenge and suffering to share with another person.. and of course to let another person come into contact with this Buddhism, with Ikeda sensei and to know about this Buddhism.
See the pic above? the while lil smiley thing is called the 'MayBell' which is a kind of flowers that droop as it grows. Sensei hopes that ywds should always be like the maybell.. to be humble especially when we acquire greater knowledge or leadership.
and we have targeted to complete a jigsaw puzzle of 1,000 pieces by completion of the 20K dialogue.. wanna see it??
so.. *drum rolls* pls allow me to share with you the latest updates for the campaign.
We are @ 5746 today from 2485 three days ago, a jump of 3261 dialogues in 3 days... momentum is picking up now and remember to involve our YWD Mbrs/Bels in this campaign too..

Though we have 14254 & 16 days more to go... Let's continue to Jia you ne..
and we have a target to achieve 10,000 by this weekend.
Please come down for the Youth Prayer Meeting tonight, 730pm at TBSC to catch a glimpse of the jigsaw puzzle!!
FINALLY,

Sensei's Guidance for Feburary 25

Gandhi taught people to live with lion-like courage, impressing upon them that they could not afford to leave things up to others, that they had to stand up for themselves and fight for justice. Ultimately, the only way forward is by developing self-reliance, forging a stand-alone spirit. That is the only path to victory.
